For centuries, coffee cherry tea has been made from the dried pulp of the coffee cherry. While still quite unknown in Germany, this tea has become hip and popular in the US. Its caffeine content is higher than that of normal coffee and even some energy drinks, which is due to the high caffeine content of the coffee cherry skin.
Sustainable and extremely tasty
The cherries give the tea a pleasant sweet and aromatic flavor – with fine notes of pear, rosehip and cherry. Coffee cherry tea is a good alternative energy booster as there are no sugar or any other additives.
Both pulp and skin being used, the economic efficiency of the individual coffee plant is increased, which makes coffee cherry tea economically and ecologically valuable. Moreover, this increases our coffee farmers’ profit per plant.
Cherry tea preparation
Put 1 – 2 table spoons of our Cascara into a cup, add hot water and let it brew between 5 and 10 minutes so that, together with the substances added, the tea develops its taste. You can drink it hot or cold and it goes very well with ginger, cinnamon or cardamon.
